Ok, I'm the lead designer here, so any confusion is pretty much my fault. But give us a break, we've got a lot of hopes and dreams based around this site, and we hope to truly do some cool things here, so be patient. :)
Now H2O City Magazines has existed for several years, so don't think we're new. But we didn't have much direction, we didn't have a lot of focus. Now this is our fourth version, and I really feel like things are going places.
So how does it all work? First of all, people write articles and submit them here. You write about anything you like, and you choose what city and category the article goes under. Then the H2O Staff receives a copy of the article, reviews it, makes sure its safe and all, decides whether the article applies only to one city, an entire region, or even all of the magazines!
This process usually takes only a few days, and is free!
People are encouraged to talk about the articles, encouraged to tell other people about your article, and so on. Get the word out!
Now businesses can submit articles to promote their business, to help educate their customer base, or to talk about new products. Non-business people can submit articles about anything they want, political events, friend's websites, etc.
A business that needs someone to write an article, to write a newsletter, to help promote their business, can look through past articles and contact the authors of the articles.
With this, authors who submit their articles here for free, can potentially make a bit of side money or even an entire business by other people who are looking for people with good writing skills.
This is a bit of the beginning of what we want H2O City Magazines to be, a place where people can find business services they need, and a place where would-be authors can promote themselves, their businesses, and anything else.
Now over the coming months, I'll be writing more articles on how people can participate, but in the meantime, write, contribute, help us to grow each of our local online magazines. :)
